The Texas Department of Transportation has confirmed that US 90 is open as is Farm-to-Market Road 117 or the Batesville Highway and Farm-to-Market Road 140 or the Pearsall Highway.

Other highways in Uvalde counties remain closed for right now.

AEP  Texas wants to give out a driving precaution for counties to the north of us, however. Icy and wet conditions in Camp Wood, Rocksprings, and Leakey may cause accidents that could affect power.
The Uvalde school district will be shut down today with no classes held due to the latest weather situation.

Also closed is the Knippa, Sabinal, Nueces Canyon, Leakey and La Pryor School districts.

The Gabriel Tafolla Charter School, Saint Philips Episcopal School, Sacred Heart Catholic School , Head Start and Early Head Start and Alphabet Club and A Child's Day Care Center will be closed.

Our Health clinics in Uvalde, Camp Wood and Leakey will be closed.

Southwest Texas Junior College will not be holding classes today.

The Uvalde city office will be open. The Uvalde County Courthouse is closed .
The Uvalde Country Club is closed.

Curves is closed.

All services at First Baptist Church and the South Getty Street Church of Christ have been cancelled.

All services at Northside Baptist Church have been cancelled.

The Sacred Heart Church office is closed.

The US Post office is open , but no mail delivery is taking place due to highway shutdowns. Postal clerks will be on duty as usual and the collection box will be available for those who wish to place things in the mail.

Dr. Lynch's dental office is closed for those patients her office has not been able to contact by phone.

Logos at the First United Methodist Church has been cancelled for tonight.

The parent meeting for baseball, softball, track and golf has been cancelled in Uvalde until further notice.

Basketball and soccer games have been cancelled for today. Information will be available tomorrow about when.

Three people have taken advantage of the Willie De Leon Civic Center which continues to be in operation for those stranded in Uvalde.

Power outtages have been reported in the northwest area of town earlier this morning after a tree fell in the Myrtle Street area. That power has reportedly been restored.
