Lobo Softball and Coyote Baseball

The Uvalde Lobos combined 11 hits with five Brennan defensive errors to plate 15 runs as they recorded a 15-11 district road victory over the Bears Saturday afternoon at San Antonio. Alessandra Ortiz singled twice and tripled to lead Uvalde's 11-hit attack. Yolanda Garcia doubled, singled, and drove in five runs. Nataly Hernandez pitched four and one-third innings of solid relief to pick up the victory. The Lobos will play their season home finale Tuesday when they host the Medina Valley Panthers. The game is set for a 7 p.m. start at the Uvalde High School softball field.
 

The Uvalde Coyotes scored two runs in the eighth inning and recorded s 4-2 district baseball victory over the San Antonio Brennan Bears Saturday afternoon. With the bases loaded and one out, Tristan Hale hit a ground ball that was fielded by shortstop Ethan Valdez, who fipped the ball to second baseman Antonio Terrazas for an out. Terrazas then relayed the ball to first baseman in an attempt to turn a double play. But Terrazas' throw to first baeman Marcus Terrazas was low. Terrazas bobbled the low throw for an error. On the play, a Uvalde base runner scored. Later in the inning, Justin Sandoval singled to drive in a run. Next action got the Coyotes is set for Tuesday night at Kolinek Field when they will host Medina Valley, beginning at 7.
 

Lobo Softball and Coyote Baseball

The Uvalde Coyotes beat the San Antonio McCollum Cowboys, 3-1, in District 28-4A baseball Tuesday night, while the Uvalde Lobos lost a 1-0 decision to the San Antonio McCollum Cowgirls in District 28-4A softball. With the win, the Coyotes pulled to within one game of the Medina Valley Panthers in the battle for fourth place and a post-season playoff spot. Saturday at 2 p.m., the Coyotes will face the district-leading Brennan Bears at San Antonio. With their loss, the Lobos now trail Medina Valley by three games in their battle for fourth place and a playoff spot with three district games remaining. Saturday at 2 p.m., the Lobos will play the Brennan Bears at the San Antonio ISD softball field number 2. Both Saturday games will be broadcast by Uvalde Radio Saturday.

Boerne Champion's Chargers beat the Uvalde Lobos and the Uvalde Coyotes Friday night at Boerne.
The Champion girls defeated the Lobos, 6-1, while the Champion boys downed the Coyotes 6-3.
